⚙️ Settings

One place for everything: colors, text, calendars, tokens, and export. Nothing leaves this device — all of it is stored only in this browser.

Appearance

Theme

Dark is the default everywhere. Daylight is a lighter, optional companion for bright rooms — same colors, inverted for daytime reading. Applies across every page and syncs to your other devices.

Family & label colors

Colors follow across Week at a Glance, Tasks, and the Dashboard.

Calendar — who's on the family roster
Not Todoist data. Just the 5 people, used for avatars, the week grid, and calendar attribution.
Todoist tasks — how a task's real fields get colored and grouped
Everything below reads a task's actual Todoist data (its Project, or one of its Labels) — these colors don't change what's stored, just how it's shown here.

There is no separate "who" field — these are just Todoist labels, and this list says which ones name a person so the app can show them as a person pill and group by them. Add or remove as situations change; this only changes what Family Ops tracks, it never adds or removes an actual label on a task.

This colors the label pill inside Family Ops only. Todoist has its own label colors from its own palette, set inside Todoist — the two never sync in either direction, changing one never touches the other.

Top‼️, ToDo, ToSch and Reminders are Dashboard's default board columns. This has nothing to do with any individual task's Project or Labels — it's purely how those four built-in buckets are tinted.

Display order

The sequence Who, Projects and Labels appear in when you Group or Sort by them — on the dashboard and across the app. Anything you don't place stays alphabetical.

Navigation order

Reorder the pages menu (the Pages button in the header). Off by default — the app uses its built-in order until you turn this on. Pages can move up or down within their own section, not between sections.

Task text

Applies to the Dashboard task cards.

Cell & Pill Styling

What controls task cell backgrounds and pill colors across the app.

Task Cell Background
The colored backdrop behind each task card — set per page via its "Shade mode" setting
Dashboard: Shade mode dropdown (Rules / Label / Project / Due / Off)
Tasks page: Shade by dropdown (Same options)
Week at a Glance: Shade by dropdown (Same options)
Shade mode options:
Off — no background color
Rules — use highlight rule color
Label — use label color from Todoist label colors picker above
Project — use project color from Projects picker above
Due date — red/orange/blue based on overdue/today/future
Pill Backgrounds & Text
The colored badges showing section, label, project, due date, etc.
Section pill: Color from Sections settings · Auto black text for contrast
Label pill: Hardcoded light gray background (not customizable)
Project pill: Project color from Projects picker above
Due date pill: Hardcoded red/orange/blue
Other pills: Hardcoded gray (top, recurring, time)
Task organization

Action tags

What kind of thing a task is — Discuss, Review, Plan, Waiting, Decide. Quick Capture prefixes the emoji onto the title and applies the matching label; Tasks & the Dashboard can shade or badge by it. Combine with a person label (e.g. Discuss + MM) for "things to discuss with Meghan."

Legacy data cleanup

Scans your live Todoist tasks for older label spellings and projects that predate the current label-based system (🟢ToSch used to be a project; some tasks may still carry an older label variant from before that changed). Read-only until you tap a Migrate button — nothing here changes anything on its own.

Campaigns

Temporary, cross-project context — guest visits, vacations, house projects, or anything with a start/end. Tag a task with a campaign's label (via Quick Capture or by hand) and it counts as part of the campaign wherever it lives; campaigns fade out automatically once their end date passes.

Highlight rules

Auto-color tasks by title keyword, project, label, campaign, or due date. First enabled rule to match wins, top to bottom. Pick "highlight rules" from the Shade dropdown on Tasks to see these in action.

Sections

Todoist sections within a project — add, rename, reorder, or delete. Family Ops reads these everywhere it groups tasks (Tasks/Dashboard "Group → section"); this is the one place that actually writes them back to Todoist.

Dashboard

Dashboard views

Normal and 🧳 Trip Prep are always available on Dashboard's own view selector. Any other views you've created there — by setting up buckets the way you want and choosing "New view…" — can be renamed or removed here.

Calendars

iCal / webcal feeds

Public .ics links shown on Home & Week at a Glance. Paste the secret iCal address from Google/Apple/Outlook.

Weather

Location

Used by Home, Weather, and Comfort.

App updates

This checks for updates automatically — when you reopen the app, and every few minutes while it's open — and shows a banner the moment one's ready. Use this after deploying if you want to confirm it landed right away instead of waiting.

Notifications

A push notification each morning at 7:00 listing what's due today (and anything overdue). Sent to this device only — enable it separately on each phone/tablet you want it on.

Daily headline

A compact “what matters” summary. Show it under Hello, in the This week table, or both. Choose how many facts it can combine, how long it can get, and which signals are allowed to win.
